The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) has taken center stage at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025, held from April 28 to May 1 at the Dubai World Trade Center. Leading a formidable delegation of 230 representatives from 111 travel and tourism entities, MMPRC is promoting the Maldives as a premier global destination. Tourism and Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim is engaging with top industry leaders to cement the Maldives’ status as a world-class travel hotspot, with Beond airline as the official airline partner, underscoring vital air links to the Middle East.
ATM 2025, the Middle East’s premier travel trade show, connects global tourism professionals with influential buyers, fostering partnerships and innovation. The Maldives’ vibrant stand immerses visitors in the nation’s rich culture through live art demonstrations, cultural performances, and a gastronomy counter serving authentic Maldivian flavors. These displays highlight the unique experiences awaiting travelers, reinforcing the Maldives’ “Sunny Side of Life” allure.
The event has already seen major milestones, with MMPRC signing memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways on day one, boosting connectivity and international collaboration. Maldivian Airlines also launched its new inflight magazine at the stand, adding to the buzz. Further agreements are slated with the Bank of Maldives, the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), and Resort Life Travel, alongside the launch of the second edition of the National Hotel & Guesthouse Association of Maldives’ (NHGAM) “I AM Maldives” magazine, amplifying the Maldives’ presence in key markets.
Beyond the stand, MMPRC is maximizing visibility through high-impact taxi advertising at the Convention Gate Entrance and a “Maldivian Evening” networking event on April 29, uniting Middle Eastern and global travel trade partners, media, and dignitaries. These efforts target affluent travelers and the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector, driving growth in luxury tourism.
The Middle East is a vital market, contributing 14,078 visitors to the Maldives as of April 9, 2025. MMPRC’s strategic campaigns include a recent familiarization trip for Emirati influencer Khalid Al Ameri and an upcoming joint promotion with DNATA. Planned initiatives like the Visit Maldives Week roadshow, airline collaborations, webinars, outdoor ads, and TV promotions aim to sustain this momentum.
“ATM 2025 is a pivotal platform to showcase our unparalleled offerings,” said Minister Thoriq Ibrahim, who personally met with local performers bringing Maldivian culture to life. “We’re strengthening ties with the Middle East to ensure the Maldives remains a top choice for travelers.”
With its robust presence at ATM 2025, the Maldives is poised to solidify its position as a leading destination for luxury, culture, and adventure in the Middle Eastern market and beyond.
