Barceló Hotel Group has expanded its footprint in the Maldives with the grand opening of Barceló Nasandhura Malé, the capital city’s first 5-star hotel. Boasting a prime seafront location with sweeping views of the Indian Ocean, this stylish urban retreat features 136 sophisticated rooms, 116 designer apartments, and premium office spaces, offering a luxurious haven in the heart of Malé.

Nestled opposite the Henveiru Ferry Terminal and a quick 10-minute drive from Velana International Airport, the hotel is perfectly positioned for both leisure and business travelers. Guests can savor diverse dining options across three restaurants: Alimas, a welcoming lounge café; Oivaru, an all-day buffet venue; and Dons, serving authentic Chinese cuisine. The experience is elevated with BHeaven, a rooftop bar offering mocktails and a shisha lounge, and the Pool Bar, set by Malé’s only oceanfront pool.

The Maldives, a stunning archipelago of 26 atolls and 1,200 islands, is celebrated for its turquoise waters, pristine beaches, and vibrant marine life, drawing visitors year-round. Barceló Nasandhura Malé complements this paradise with its modern design and premium amenities, delivering an unmatched blend of urban energy and tropical serenity.

The hotel’s wellness offerings include a lavish spa with six treatment rooms and a sea-view fitness centre, catering to guests seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. For corporate needs, the property provides over 1,000 m² of flexible MICE facilities, making it a prime venue for conferences, exhibitions, and events.

This marks Barceló’s second hotel in the Maldives, following the 2024 opening of Barceló Whale Lagoon Maldives, a 5-star resort with 100 luxury villas, including 30 overwater, on Bodufinolhu island in the South Ari Atoll. Located near the South Ari Marine Protected Area, a renowned whale shark habitat, it’s a diver’s dream. The Nasandhura opening bolsters Barceló’s Asian portfolio, which now spans 11 hotels across six countries: Maldives, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, UAE, and Oman.

“Barceló Nasandhura Malé is a milestone for us,” said a Barceló spokesperson. “It brings 5-star hospitality to Malé, blending luxury with the Maldives’ natural beauty.”

With this launch, Barceló Hotel Group reinforces its commitment to expanding in Asia, cementing its reputation for delivering exceptional guest experiences in top-tier destinations.
